Volkswagen Super Beetle Build by APR and VW of America

This Volkswagen Super Beetle is a featured build on vwvortex.com by APR in Alabama, linked at the bottom of the page. It was created in collaboration with VW of America, who chose the shop because of their well known reputation for OEM-quality modifications. The goal of this build was to create a monster all wheel drive turbo Beetle that would appear like something that might have come straight from the factory, only slightly altered for performance. They used an AWD system out of a donor Golf R 2.0, and it’s stock 4 cylinder 2.0 Turbo received modifications giving it in excess of 500 horsepower. Naturally, big brakes and suspension upgrades were installed to handle all of it’s new found power.


From the exterior it is hard to believe what is lurking underneath. It immediately reminded us of Paul Newman’s custom 1963 Beetle Convertible which had a mid mounted Indy car engine and suspension, and remained nearly stock looking from outside. Painstaking detail was given to this particular Super Beetle in order to make sure that every possible issue was addressed, including use of Audi TT-RS drop spindles, TT-RS sub frames, and APR’s lower aluminum control arms.

They wanted to keep the AWD system looking as factory as possible, so a lot of cutting was made to make the fuel tanks fit underneath with the Golf R’s multi-link fully-independent rear suspension, Haldex AWD coupling and associated drive shafts.

H&R Ultra Performance Coil Overs and Sport Sway Bars were installed to help reduce body roll and give quick turn-in. APR used the aluminum Audi TT-RS drop spindle since the Beetle’s stock knuckles are made from heavy cast metal. They also have a lower control arm connecting point that is lower than the stock Beetle piece.

APR Australia worked with Harding Performance to create a polished aluminum lower control arm. In addition to being much lighter and stronger than the Beetle’s stamped steel pieces, APR Australia notes that these are designed to gain 1.5 degreese of positive static caster, providing an “Anti Lift/Dive” advantage.

The larger 13.85″ slotted and ventilated rotors have more surface area and dissipate heat much faster than the stock rotors, and the Volkswagen Racing six-piston calipers also have a much larger braking surface area with more even distribution of clamping force.

The rear was upgraded to the blue Golf R32 calipers and Volkswagen Racing camber adjustment plates were put up front. Even the space saver spare wheel well from the Golf R was moved over to give this AWD conversion a very OEM stock look.

We are big Volkswagen fans so we were happy to so see VWoA backing up this build. The APR Super Beetle ended up with a much deserved win of the Gran Turismo Best European Import award at the 2012 SEMA show. Overall, it is an absolutely awesome car that we would love to get our hands on some day (soon) for a test drive.

012 Volkswagen Scirocco R Modification

This 2012 Volkswagen Scirocco R is the subject of a 79 page modification thread on http://www.vwgolf.net.au/forum.php by it’s owner, forum member ”Rev555″.  While we normally don’t feature slammed stance rides with flat wraps here, we have made the exception for this particular car because of it’s impressive list of modifications. Also because we have a soft spot for the “new” Scirocco that is unfortunately not being imported here into the United States, which makes it even more difficult after seeing these photos. In any case, when a car is as modified as this feature R, there are always decisions to personalize it to one’s own unique taste that not everybody will agree upon, but we can respect that when the overall end result is more about performance than appearance. With 513 ft lbs of torque, we have no problems at all here. Moving on…

For whatever internal VW factory reasons, the sportier Scirocco R version was left as front-wheel-drive while the Golf R versions are all-wheel-drive. While all of that added power and torque of this feature car could be assisted by 2 extra drive wheels, we are glad to see that a DREXLER clutch type differential was added to help get the power to the ground. That took care of a fair amount of the torque steer which was bound to happen with that much grunt going through the front drive wheels.

19X9.5 ADV8.1 Forged One Piece rims with 265/30/19 Michelin Pilot Super Sports also aid in hooking traction up, and H&R sway bars and coilovers were added, as well.

A factory piece which artificially amplifies the exhaust note into the cabin called the “Soundaktor” was removed, which we also thought was a good idea to toss. We had only heard of that before in the latest BMW M5, but let’s just hope that this isn’t becoming a trend with the manufacturers.

When the phrase “a picture can speak a thousand words” was originally coined, it certainly might have had this thread in mind if any foresight was at all possible since there are enough photos to do the talking in this long thread here. We would have not gone so far as the wrap and appearance modifications but we would have done all of the performance items and interior pieces, since we are sticklers for subtlety. To each their own, which we can respect. Oh yeah, and raise it a little bit, ok? Did that just age us?…

1. Pertama kalian siapkan dulu file ZIP atau RAR yang di password. Bisa kalian buat filenya sendiri untuk percobaan, bisa juga kalian download terlebih dahulu.

2. Setelah filenya sudah siap mari kunjungi alamat berikut inihttp://archive.online-convert.com/convert-to-zip (atau klik link tersebut nanti otomatis akan masuk ke halaman yang akan kita tuju)

3. Setelah kita memasuki halaman web yang kita tuju tadi kita akan di suguhi dua pilihan, tapi sekarang kita membahas pilihan pertama.
Yaitu kalian pilih saja Upload File yang tertera pada bagian atas, kalian cari file yang sudah kalian siapkan tadi. Jika sudah ketemu filenya, langsung ok saja terus arahkan kursor ke bawah sampai nemu tulisan convert trus klik aja tombol itu.

Cara Install Ulang Windows 7 Dengan Flash Disk Complete

Anda mempunyai netbook dan kebingungan cara untuk menginstal ulang windows anda melalui flashdisk? Tenang saja teman-teman, disini akan coba kami jelaskan cara instal windows melalui flashdisk. Mungkin bagi sebagian besar orang hal ini merupakan hal yang mudah, tetapi bagi yang belum tahu
tentu saja menginstal windows lewat flashdisk ini merupakan hal sulit. Silahkan perhatikan tutorial cara menginstal windows lewat usb flashdisk berikut ini.

1. Hal pertama yang perlu anda siapkan tentu saja file iso driver windowsnya, bisa kalian download di web ini dengan mudah, dan juga flashdisk,.

2. Setelah anda mempunyai file ISO windows-nya, yang kedua adalah aplikasi untuk memasukan file windows tersebut ke dalam flashdisk. Disini kami menggunakan aplikasi bawaan dari microsoft yaitu 'Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool'. Bagi yang belum punya dapat mendownload Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool Disini. Tenang saja ukurannya kecil hanya 2.5 Mb.

3. Setelah itu kalian instal Windows 7 USB DVD Download Tool. Tampilan awalnya seperti ini.

Bagi Yang nggak punya Kaset Windows 7 / Xp bisa download di sini Tinggal Milih aja :D
Buat Ngload File .Isonya Download aja Daemon Tools Cari di google sendiri hahaha :v

4. Setelah itu anda klik 'Browse' dan cari letak file ISO windows yang sudah kalian siapkan tadi dan klik 'Next'.

5.  Kemudian anda klik 'USB device'  dan tentukan letak Flashdisk yang ingin dibuat bootable untuk menginstal windowsnya. (Oh ya jangan lupa colokan dulu flashdisknya ya gan? ^_^ )

6. Klik 'Begin Copying'. 

7. Tunggu hingga prosesnya selesai. Dalam proses ini anda bisa sambil membuat kopi dahulu, karena prosesnya agak lama, apalagi kalau windowsnya sampai ukuran 7 Gb,., ^_^

 8. Setelah selesai dan kopinya sudah jadi anda klik 'Start Over'

9. Nah kini anda sudah mempunyai flashdisk yang bisa digunakan untuk menginstal windows. Eit tetapi ini baru sampai bahannya saja, sekarang tinggal cara instalnya. Minum dulu kopinya gan, biar tidak stress,., ^_^

10. Langkah selanjutnya adalah dengan memasang flashdisk yang sudah kita buat tadi itu ke PC atau laptop yang ingin diinstal.

11. Restart PC atau laptop teman-teman.

12. Pada saat awal menyala, dengan cepat teman-teman tekan tombol F2 / F10 / DEL / F1 (Setiap merk Pc atau Laptop Berbeda tombol yang ditekan untuk dapat masuk ke system BIOS, Jadi saya sarankan teman-teman googling sendiri agar teman-teman tahu tombol yang cocok untuk PC atau laptop teman-teman agar dapat masuk ke system BIOS). Pada langkah ini, ada beberapa jenis laptop yang menyediakan tombol untuk langsung masuk ke pilihan 'Boot Device Priority',silahkan teman-teman googling sendiri, karena banyak sekali jenis laptop yang beredar saat ini,. Nanti setelah masuk pilihan 'Boot Device Priority', tinggal teman-teman pilih 'First Boot Device Priority' ke USB Flashdisk.

13. Setelah masuk ke BIOS, kira-kira nanti akan muncul tampilan seperti ini, memang tampilan BIOS untuk PC atau Laptop tidak semuanya sama, tetapi pada intinya itu sama.

14. Setelah muncul tampilan seperti di atas, anda pilih menu Boot >> pilih Boot Device Priority, pada Menu First Boot pastikan terpilih dengan memakai USB Storage Device / Nama USB anda.

15. Tekan F10 dan pilih yes, otomatis PC akan restart sendiri.

16.  Ketika komputer kembali menyala akan tampil perintah "Press any key to boot from  bla bla bla''. Ketika muncul tulisan seperti itu, segera anda tekan sembarang tombol di keyboard.

17. Setelah itu akan tampil layar hitam dengan tulisan 'windows is loading files'. Tunggu sampai prosesnya selesai.

18. Setelah selesai kemudian anda akan masuk ke form pengisian tentang bahasa, waktu, dan keyboard (biarkan saja seperti itu dan klik Next)

19. Klik Instal Now

20. Jika anda menggunakan windows AIO yang terdiri dari banyak file windows, maka akan tampil menu seperti ini. Silahkan pilih satu versi yang ingin diinstal di komputer atau laptop anda kemudian klik Next

21. Setelah klik Instal Now maka akan tampil menu pilihan persetujuan, centang menu I accept the license terms, dan pilih Tombol Next.

22.  Lalu anda akan masuk form yang bertuliskan 'Which type of instalation do you want?'. Pilih Custom Advanced.

23. Masuk ke Form 'Where Do You Want to Instal Windows' . Nah disini anda harus berhati-hati, akan muncul beberapa partisi sesuai dengan jumlah partisi pada komputer / laptop anda,(untuk laptop baru biasanya baru ada 1 partisi saja). Kira-kira tampilannya seperti di bawah. Klik Partition System (C:).kemudian pilih format untuk memformat semua data yang berada di C. (pada langkah ini saya sarankan untuk ditemani orang yang sudah ahli)

24. Setelah proses format selesai kemudian klik next dan akan dimulai proses pengcopyan file dari dvd ke komputer kita. Pada tahap ini memakan waktu agak lama, jadi anda bisa siapkan dulu secangkir kopi agar lebih tenang sedikit,., ^_^

25. Setelah beberapa lama nanti komputer anda akan restart sendiri, kemudian masuk ke form seperti di atas lagi untuk melanjutkan prosesnya lagi, dan kemudian akan restart lagi. Setelah restart yang kedua ini komputer anda akan memasuki proses booting yang pertama.

26. Isikan nama anda untuk menjadi nama pada komputer atau laptop anda (bebas mau diisi dengan nama apa)

27. Kemudian masuk ke form pengisian password (Saya sendiri tidak pernah mengisikan kolom ini) boleh diisi boleh tidak, kemudian klik next

27. Kemudian masuk ke form pengisian serial number. Kosongkan saja, jangan lupa uncheck pada pilihan 'automatically active windows . . . .' . Setelah itu klik next

28. Selanjutnya masuk ke form setup windows. Silahkan pilih sesuai keinginan anda. Kalau saya selalu pilih 'ask me later' .

29. Setelah itu anda akan sampai di form terakhir yaitu setting format waktu. Silahkan pilih sendiri sesuai dengan daerah anda dan klik Next

30. Selesai. Kini anda sudah mempunyai windows baru yang fresh. Karena windows yang baru diinstal ini belum ada aplikasi dan program yang diinstal silahkan anda download semua kebutuhan program dan aplikasi yang anda butuhkan di web ini. InsyaALLOH semua yang anda butuhkan ada di web ini.
